The USS Batfish (SS-310) was a Balao-class submarine of the United States Navy, commissioned during World War II. Commissioned on August 21, 1943, she became one of the most famous submarines of the war for her exceptional combat record.

World War II Service

The Batfish completed seven war patrols in the Pacific Theater, sinking 15 enemy vessels totaling over 37,000 tons.
She gained legendary status in February 1945, during her sixth war patrol, when she sank three Japanese submarines (I-41, RO-112, and RO-113) within 76 hours..
For her service, the USS Batfish received the Presidential Unit Citation.
This challenge coin is intended to be a tribute to the USS Batfish's storied legacy and the heroic sacrifices of her sailors.

On the front, the design showcases the iconic USS Battle Fish Battle Flag. The reverse features the submarine’s fierce emblem, flanked by the ribbon rack of her awards. Together, these elements capture the essence of the USS Batfish's valiant service and her place in naval history
